Port Authority Bus Terminal

LNA Solutions Used: 3/4" Girder Clamps, locator plates, clip washers, packing (leveling) pieces and SAE Grade 5 Hex Head and cap Screw

The New York City bus terminal is the largest bus station that services the United States. On a daily basis, the terminal serves over 7000 buses and nearly 250,000 people.

Girder clamps were used to connect and support an air plenum system to the ceiling of the Mid-Manhattan structure. The clamps were an attractive design option for the Port Authority, because of the products high reliability of safety, ease and speed of installation and LNA Solutions outstanding customer service. The clamping system also allowed the installer to avoid welding and drilling to the structural steel members during the securing of the permanent air plenum

In addition, after several years of service, the galvanized clamps were inspected and showed minimal to no rust. New clamps are being used again on a retro-fit project at the terminal.
